Room 8, Carmel’s Pad
Carmel Greenwood, the eldest daughter of the last resident Landlord, Mark Greenwood, was the last permanent occupant of this room. She often complained about how cold and draughty is was when she stayed there. The contrast now is hard to believe. It has been transformed into an ultra swish, warm & cosy suite comprising a comfy living/bedroom, incorporating a den capable of sleeping 3. This leads into a lobby and a bathroom with double wash basins and a huge freestanding bath with shower.
Carmel’s bedroom here is a jewel, not only does this room boast ancient mullioned windows, but the ceiling was removed exposing a stunning set of rafters which provide endless viewing pleasure for those wanting an alternative to the 40” LED TV! Twin tub chairs, a nest of tables, a spacious desk, Wi-Fi and stereo round off a really beautiful room dominated by a king-sized oak sleigh bed.
The whole area is capable of sleeping 5 as the living room also features a futon sofa bed which will comfortably sleep two children (or adults at a pinch!) and houses coffee and tea making facilities and a 32” backlit LED TV. The den also has room for a further one to sleep or can be used as a “flopping” area for reading or watching the 24” TV which comes equipped with DVD facilities.
Carmel’s Family Suite is priced at £205/night, single occupancy. An extra £10 per additional guest up to a maximum of 4 is charged. Continental and cooked breakfast and VAT is included.
